temporary shoring of a wood deck under construction

(OP)
A wood deck was under construction when someone reportedly fell from it. I am looking for an industry standard to reference in regard to temporary shoring of a residential wood deck during construction. I was unable to find anything in regard to temporary shoring in the latest version of DCA6 that I have (DCA6-09).
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

RE: temporary shoring of a wood deck under construction

I wouldn't think such a document specific to residential wood framed decks exists. I would design the shoring per my engineering judgement, but ASCE 37 could be used as a starting point if you need something official.

RE: temporary shoring of a wood deck under construction

If they fell from the deck, do you mean temporary guardrails? Shoring is usually considered to carry gravity loads.
OSHA may have something about guardrails.

RE: temporary shoring of a wood deck under construction

You might specify what country this is in, etc. This is a global website after all.
