Rotate PMI

Rotate PMI

(OP)
Hello,

I am struggling figuring out how to rotate a PMI datum. I have a side section view of a tube and I'm trying to make the O.D. of the tube a datum. When I place the flag it places the flag along the tube instead of perpendicular. If I use the orientation tool the letter is rotated as well. I attached a couple of pictures of what I am getting vs what I am trying to do. The image on the left is with the datum rotated 90 degrees. it looks crooked because it tries to attach to the bottom of the letter. any help is appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Rotate PMI

I have the same behavior..Don't know why it is doing this.

As a workaround, you could set the termination point to Dot Terminated. Then drag it to the tubes surface (hiding the dot behind the traingle)
Set the stublength to zero.

I figured it out. I needed to select the section line of the OD rather than the surface.
