Reaction force on a deformable part

Reaction force on a deformable part

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulate a tube bending process using abaqus. Instead of applying the bending motion directly to the bending head (tool which bends the tube) I need to apply it from a certain distance from the bending head.

I have tried attaching a rigid wire to the bending head and carried out the bending process by applying the bending motion to the tip of the wire which lays it's reference point (control point). Everything worked perfectly and I had the results that I needed.

However, now I am trying to repeat the process but this time using a deformable wire instead of rigid one (since I need to determine the reaction force on the whole wire). As it it shown thoroughly in the attached picture, the wire was chosen as a highly stiff beam in order to avoid deformation in the wire. But as it is obvious in the picture, the result at the same point as the previous simulation is totally different and unacceptable.

I would like to have your thoughts on this matter that what I might have forgotten to consider in my model. Thank you in advance.
