How to change global settings in Catia V5

(OP)
I have recieved new global CATSettings from my customer, how do I install these settings? Do I have to delete the old ones, or could I switch between them?
I run Catia V5 R9 SP3 on Windows 2000.

Reply on this would be gratefully recieved.

Greetings from Norway!

RE: How to change global settings in Catia V5

raufoss,

There may be other ways but this is how I've done it in the past.
Take the CATSettings you received and put them in a folder (ex. d:\temp\CATSettings).  Go to the Environment Editor and create a new Environment.  In this new environment set the variable CATUserSettingPath to d:\temp\CATSettings (or to where you saved it).  Upon exiting the Environment Editor you will be prompted to save the changes.
You might want to go back again and double check that the path you specified was saved properly.
Hope that helps.

RE: How to change global settings in Catia V5

hi,

using the CATUserSettingPath means that you will change some of them just by opening CATIA. You should use CATReferenceSettingPath. By doing this you can use reset in the Tools / Customize  and Tools / Options. And more than this you can just delete your own CATSettings files ( the one that are in the CATUserSettingPath )...

Happy New Year,

Eric N.
