RE: How do I make "select terminating object" sticky?

I know that there is a reason for this wish, but...
- remind me please.

Can't you simply , without touching anything in the balloon dialog, the ballon is now "hanging" on the cursor, position the cursor on a edge ( highlighting) , then ( this is the trick) Press, do NOT click, Press left mouse button and move away from the edge, The leader should appear and be sliding as long as the left mouse button is pressed.
Move the cursor to where the balloon should be placed, then Click to place. ( This is way simpler to do live than to describe in text.. smile

When moving the ballon :
( without opening the dialog) press-drag-release to move the balloon AND
If combined with "Shift" -key, the leader will again slide along the edge.

Is there still a need for the "Sticky" ?

Regards,
Tomas

Hi Tomas,
Yes, I'm familiar with the workflow for placing the balloon that you described. However, in my opinion it's very cumbersome, unnatural and completely unnecessary. Even you admit, it's hard to describe it in text. So, I prefer the workflow for placing the balloon that follows after clicking the "select terminating body" button. I think it's much quicker and much simpler. However, I don't want to have to click the button every time I place a balloon. So, is there a setting in customer defaults to get the workflow that I prefer without having to click the "select terminating body" button every time?

Thank you,
Trent

RE: How do I make "select terminating object" sticky?

I am not sure i agree on this, the workflow I describe is maybe the quickest possible doing this, press-drag-release and then click.
you want click( place leader) + click ( place balloon) instead.
The difference is ... very small.
No, i don't know if it is possible to change.

Tomas

Yea, I can see your point. We recently upgraded from NX 8.5 to 11.0. In 8.5 (and previous versions) the default workflow for placing a balloon was the one that I preferred. So, probably more than anything, it's just what I'm used to. Thanks for offering your help.

Thank you,
