Import inp. file - Abaqus not responding

Import inp. file - Abaqus not responding

Import inp. file - Abaqus not responding

(OP)
Hello all,

I ran the interface between abaqus and moldflow to generate an "inp" file for further analysis on abaqus.
Now, im trying to import that "inp" file to abaqus but i simple can't. When i try to import to abaqus (Import- Model - inp) the program stops responding.

I let it on for one day, but still no luck.

Can someone explain to me why is this happening?

Thanks in advance

RE: Import inp. file - Abaqus not responding

I guess the Moldflow interface added a separate material orientation for every element in the .inp.
Abaqus/CAE might not be able to handle 10000s of those definitions.

Why do you want to import it in A/CAE?

Mustaine3, thanks for your reply.

I'm finishing my master thesis and i need to do a structural analysys from a part injected in moldflow.
I'm doing a direct transfer data (moldflow to abaqus) and a transfer data using digimat.

I've been struggling with the direct transfer. I guess i will try to use a more thick mesh on moldflow and see if it works
