poppet valve

poppet valve

(OP)
Hello Everyone!
1st post, I have an application where ive got a cnc bending machine . we are using a servo to run our hydraulic pump then have hydraulic cylinders moving the bending beam. we only have so much flow so we added a poppet valve to dump directly to tank. so we open the main valve and the bending beam starts moving then we open the poppet valve to dump directly to tank to gain more flow or speed . well thats all fine but when we open the poppet valve the bending beam lurches and pops , its not smooth enough to suit me . does anyone know of a poppet valve that i can open slowly ? more of a gradual opening affect to take out that sudden fluid flow .

RE: poppet valve

Got a hydraulic schematic? Where in the circuit did you put the poppet valve? Why? Dumping what to tank?
