Dual Plate Check Valves Wall Thickness PN6

Dual Plate Check Valves Wall Thickness PN6

Dual Plate Check Valves Wall Thickness PN6

(OP)
Dear All,

i am designing a dual plate check valve DN 900 - PN 6 in WCB
I can't find any normative that indicate the body's minimum wall thickness.
for ANSI valves, I use API 594, but I don't know how to calculate the thickness for PN6 valves

would anyone be so kind to give me the minimum wall thickness value or can explain me how calculate it?

thanks a lot to everyone

RE: Dual Plate Check Valves Wall Thickness PN6

Marco,
I looked for a Dual Plate Check Valve in the size you noted but could not find one. 20" and 24" are the largest I could find (see link).
http://www.stayflowproducts.com/check_valves/doubl...

If you look at this picture you will see the wall thickness is the same as the width of the Gasket face of a normal Flange of equal size and rating.

Think about it.

By the way, Why are you designing your own Check Valve? There are Companies that do that build them and know all the right things to do.

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

Thank you pennpiper

i work for one of this company smile , but is the first time that we produce a PN6 dual plate valve, i started the project but now i'm locked for this missing detail

I know there is a procedure for calculate the wall thickness but I can not find the formula, i checked the EN 13480-3 but i didn't found nothing

RE: Dual Plate Check Valves Wall Thickness PN6

Is there any reason that this should differ from a butterfly-valve?
