Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

(OP)
I have just started getting this alarm in the middle of running a sheet of parts. My manual says, "If you get this alarm, CONTACT AMADA" along with every other alarm in the book. Does anybody know what is actually failing in the machine that causes this alarm? I would rather not call in the tech guys.

When I clear the alarm and restart my part, It will cut for about an inch, pick up the head, then try again. I does this about 3-4 times then will give me the alarm again.

Please help.

Thanks

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

Easiest thing to check is if any of your lines that connect to the cone are touching the cone. it will cause that to happen and give the alarm. if That doesn't work you can try hooking up the external cable if it came with one

are you talking about the z-wire? I have an external one already, it seems as though when i raised my nozzle gap it stopped with the errors.

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

Your z-wire could be bad. The cone could be bad. They do fail after a while. (Amada considers the cone/head to be a consumable item). I believe there are companies that offer cone rebuild service for some models. You could try a new nozzle. Be sure to recalibrate the head with Trace-On disabled.

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

if recalibrating the head with the trace off doesn't work try cutting a part with shutter key off and and trace off if head follows part outline for a second then rises ur cone is bad. good luck pipe

What spyder said is legit. he's saved me a few times

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

I am having the same trouble as FabproHelp, I can cut a part with shutter key off and the z trace off and it seems to work like it is supposed to following the sheet moving up and down, if I stick my finger by the nozzle it will ride up when I take my finger away it goes back down, but when I try to cut with the shutter key on then it has a mind of its own. I have tried a different cone, and a different z sensor short wire. I check voltage I have 4 volts when checking from the nozzle to the plate and like 3.8 when checking from the nozzle to the outside connection on the z wire. I check for short to ground with ohm meter and do not find any on inner or outer prong of the z wire. What am I missing here any ideas of what else should I check to narrow it down? Thanks for the help

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

In my opinion, if it works with the shutter off, and not with it on, it's a problem with the cone.

With the trace off, light on, the cone/nozzle should not follow your finger up and down.

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

With the trace off it does not follow my finger

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

2 bad cones

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

i had this onetime the center pin on the z wire connector broke off in the wire

RE: Amada FO-3015 - Alarm 2154 - sensing alarm

I messed with some used cones and different things and finally put some 5/8 plate on and WACS cone and cut perfectly, I guess the refurbished cone I received was faulty, something much change when the oxygen is flowing through there, like i mentioned it seemed to work perfectly when the shutter key was off. Thanks for the help
