Hi I would like to know something about fixed cone valve or Howell bunger valve. I am making a thesis about that and it is important for me knowing the structure calculation of those kind of valves. I mean the design of the cone, the moil body and the state body with resistance of material calculations. I have to use analytical calculations and I couldn't find those calculations on internet. On the other hand, I would like to have some drawings in auto-cad of this kind of Valve. Maybe you know some company that have those drawings online. Actually I was looking for that but I couldn't find it. I was making some calculations by myself however I don't know if my calculations are correct because there is not a standard of calculation for that kind of valve. If you have some information about that please let me know.The diameter of the valve is 42" , the net head is 20 m and the discharge is 15 m3/s. I calculated a pressure and that pressure is 1.9 Bar when the valve is totally off and when the valve is open the static pressure is 0.5 bar. I don't know if those values make sense because I couldn't find calculations
like that.

I am sorry that I cannot help you here. I have not myself been on the construction and calculation side.

The calculation is also, as I have previously mentioned, not easy to get to give an accurate result, as local conditions before and after the valve, air inlet by airinlet pipes directly before outlet/in outlet, inlet pipeform etc will influence flow and hence calculation accuracy.

The only way to prove a result is to test, and even a test will not be accurate if not 1:1.
