Set-in welding variables for ASME IX

Set-in welding variables for ASME IX

Set-in welding variables for ASME IX

(OP)
Hi to all,
for a welding of two pipes one set-it in other (ex. 2" Thk.5.54 in 6" Thk.7.11) in production, what are the variables that I need to check for take the PQR?
I need to be qualify for also dia. 2" and 6" or only for 6"? I need to be qualified for also Thk. 5.54 and 7.11 or only the thickness that I need to weld (in this case 7.11)?

RE: Set-in welding variables for ASME IX

Do not worry about diameter - not applicable for welding procedures.
Thickness of your weld is 7.11 mm so qualify the PQR on a material thickness that will cover that.
Cheers,
Shane

Thank You but maybe I don't be very clear, the set-in joint are in production non for do a new PQR.
I need to know what parameters I need to check for choose the correct PQR that cover this tipe of joint

A WPS that covers 7.11 mm thickness.

Check QW-402.1 against your process.
