Closed Cell Foam Expansion Device

Closed Cell Foam Expansion Device

Closed Cell Foam Expansion Device

(OP)
I have a hydraulic device that operates at very low pressures. To date, it has been completely filled with oil and is then sealed (no hoses, lines, etc are present). Ambient temperature conditions are causing the oil to expand which increases the internal pressure and has caused the device to leak in some extreme situations.

Obviously adding an expansion chamber is the correct answer to solve the issue. However, space is very limited and just not filling completely with oil is not desired since it could condensate and cause it to rust internally which would cause problems eventually.

Has anyone every used a closed cell foam placed in the reservoir to act as the Expansion Device? If so, do you know of a source that could make these?

Thanks In Advance!!!!
