Surface temperature due to solar radiation

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I'm going to perform a heat transfer analysis for a composite box at a certain ambient temperature under solar radiation, using Abaqus. I guess there is no direct FEA way of doing this with Abaqus, so I might need to solve this analytically based on the surface emissivity data, or using some sort of reported data where I could find the max. temperature for various surfaces. Recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Ara

RE: Surface temperature due to solar radiation

Abaqus can include radiation. See User Manual 34.4.4 Thermal loads
