Cannot Select Nodes (NX9)

Cannot Select Nodes (NX9)

Cannot Select Nodes (NX9)

(OP)
Help! I've been running into a situation where all of a sudden most of the nodes in a model become un-selectable. They are THERE, but I cannot select them. Some of the nodes do remain selectable (typically a small percentage). Exiting and reopening the model doesn't correct it. Doing a "Save As" doesn't correct it. [NX9, Windows 7 Professional]

I have found a work-around which works okay for smaller models, but I now have a very large model containing many mesh collectors and that work-around would be rather time-consuming. [Work-around: copy/translate every element; delete the original elements; delete the old mesh collectors; rename the new mesh collectors; and change the display color for each mesh collector.]

Is there a better/quicker way?

...so nobody else has come across this glitch?

I can list the properties of an element in the region where the nodes are un-selectable, and it lists the nodes associated with that element. However, if I specifically enter any of those node numbers into the "Node/Element" Information window, I get a "one node not found" alert.

[One change to make the laborious work-around a bit quicker: don't delete the old mesh collectors; merge the old and new mesh collectors (eliminates deleting the old mesh collectors, renaming the new mesh collectors, and changing the mesh collector colors)].
