concrete column directly on the slab?
concrete column directly on the slab?
(OP)
I have a situation where a concrete column from an upper floor is directly on a concrete slab above basement. Column is pretty heavily loaded since it supports a beam on upper floor. I design some beams (marked yellow in image bellow) that are partly integrated in the slab above basement so the column lies on beams. Is that OK? Vertical loads from column can be taken by a beam, but what about bending moments from column to the slab? can I take into account that slab can take them? Any advice here or better solution?
Sadly I cant make another column in the basement bellow a column. So what do you think?

RE: concrete column directly on the slab?
You can use deep beam or transfer slab to support the column.

Also, I cant use deep beam since it would affect height of floor.
