Component pattern of a part that is excluded from BOM, patterned components show up on BOM

Component pattern of a part that is excluded from BOM, patterned components show up on BOM

(OP)
I typically have patterns of components (screws & washers) that I place in an assembly, but don't want them counted in my BOM. I change the properties of the seed component to Exclude from BOM. Then when I make the pattern. I expect the patterned components to have the same property, but I've found that its not the case. They still get counted in the BOM. I thought I had done this in the past, previous to SW 2017. #1) can anyone tell me if this is new to SW2017. #2)Does anyone know if this is a setting that can be changed so it does what I expect it to...copy exactly what the original is?

RE: Component pattern of a part that is excluded from BOM, patterned components show up on BOM

I don't think I've ever seen a setting for this, so all I do is expand the Pattern, shift-select all the "offending" components, click Component Properties, and select "Exclude from BOM". Extra step, sure, and I suppose if I had to do this a LOT, I'd submit an Enhancement Request.....
