Varying youngs modulus value

Varying youngs modulus value

Varying youngs modulus value

(OP)
Hi all,

I know it is possible to change shell element density, thickness etc with a distribution table such that you can get a varying thickness and density etc. Is it possible to do the same for the youngs modulus value. Im trying to linearly decrease my Youngs Modulus value along the length of my geometry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
J

RE: Varying youngs modulus value

You can make the youngs modulus dependent of the temperature or a field variable. Then you apply predefined values for those on your structure. You can use Analytical Field to do that with a formula for the temperature.

See A/CAE Manual 58. The Analytical Field toolset
