TENV MOTOR Overheat

TENV MOTOR Overheat

(OP)
I need to use a TENV motor to a centrifugal pump,
but kinda worried about having problems with overheat.
It is a small motor, 0.5 HP but at 3600 rpm.
What considerations should I do before using a TENV motor ?

RE: TENV MOTOR Overheat

Normal ambient temp.
Normal ventilation.
With a packaged pump-motor combination, properly applied there should be no problems unless the operating environment and/or the application are extreme.
You must have adequate back pressure to avoid overloading the motor.

Classified area?

Thanks for your answers guys.

No classfied area.

1 phase - 208V.
The pump is working great with a TEFC motor, just trying to reduce noise from the motor FAN.

RE: TENV MOTOR Overheat

I've put servo motors that were TENV and more power than that into machinery. They had no issues at all with temp. Getting over a HP or so is where that starts being a problem.

RE: TENV MOTOR Overheat

Much of the heat in a TENV motor is removed through the shaft. That makes it idea for a close coupled pump because the heat will move out the shaft, into the pump and put with the fluid. If it's not close coupled, then the other issues mention above loom a little higher.

RE: TENV MOTOR Overheat

I have found TENV motors will have either a larger frame size for the horsepower and or add cooling fins. The loss of the fan is compensated for if the motor has the same ratings. TEAO motors require external cooling be provided.
