(OP)
thread560-155336: timestamp with copy/paste trying to make an associative copy with timestamp in the same part file of Catia, similar to NX.
All, I recently had the need for this when trying to use "false bodies" within the same part files, to subtract from other components in an assembly. However, with out all the features that are in the main body. I rolled back my main body to the point where I wanted the copy. Then I did a translate with direction, and distance of zero. I then copy the translate feature and paste with link in that same file. This becomes the "false body" and whatever I do to the main feature from here on is not on the f.b.. Also, if I change any sizes etc. before the translate feature, they are recorded on the f.b. Lastly, it is a good idea to deactivate the translate feature in the main body.
Regards.
