Kinematic coupling between nodes of HEX8 elements and Reference Point

Kinematic coupling between nodes of HEX8 elements and Reference Point

(OP)
Hello everyone,
I have a question about the kinematic coupling between nodes belonging to HEX8 elements and reference points.
Since HEX8 nodes has no rotational dof, how does Abaqus link rotations to the reference point?
I mean, nodes of HEX8 elements have 3 dofs, while the reference point has 6 dofs: what equation are used to account for this difference in the coupling?
Thank you in advance.

RE: Kinematic coupling between nodes of HEX8 elements and Reference Point

For kinematic coupling it is simple: The rotation is directly transformed into a translation. It is like having a rigid beam directly between the ref node and each of the coupling nodes.
