Using "Allow selection of Hidden wireframe" Option in Siemen NX 9

Using "Allow selection of Hidden wireframe" Option in Siemen NX 9

Using "Allow selection of Hidden wireframe" Option in Siemen NX 9

(OP)
I was checking this option "Allow selection of Hidden wireframe" for a automation project.
I could not find any difference in the selection with "Allow Selection of Hidden Wireframe" toggled On or Off.
Using box seletion for selecting the edges of a body , is there any preference setting to active this command.
I could see the difference for similar command 'Allow Multi-select of Hidden Faces' to select faces (Using Siemen NX 9.0.3 )

RE: Using "Allow selection of Hidden wireframe" Option in Siemen NX 9

I don't think this option affects a rectangular selection but only a single selection. With the option turned off, an edge cannot be selected if it is hidden behind other geometry. With the option turned on, if the cursor ray passes over the edge, it will highlight and allow selection even if it is hidden by other geometry.
