RE: what is the best material that is strong light weight and weather proof??

Aluminum, carbon fiber, aerogel... without useful input data, the answers will be just as useful

I like a good heavy duty tarp.

RE: what is the best material that is strong light weight and weather proof??

Usually, you're doing good to get 2 out of 3.

You need to cough up some more details, like, application, environment. etc. Diamond fits the bill, but for a very limited set of applications.

RE: what is the best material that is strong light weight and weather proof??

Jordan77, you do know this is an Additive Manufacturing (think 3D printing) forum, right?

Another ill-defined problem in search of a magic wand...

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

RE: what is the best material that is strong light weight and weather proof??

A 450x350x350 micron box will be tough to build if you wanted it to hold 500 metric lbs of unobtainium.

RE: what is the best material that is strong light weight and weather proof??

If he's looking at AM for a live hinge, he's in for a surprise...

Plenty of ways to make a flex joint, if he just wants it to hinge once.
Weatherproof, so you want the box to seal, and resist sun, rain, hot, and cold?
And you want to do it additive, because????

They are called injection molded enclosures and electronics guys use by the millions.
