top mount plates in bond beams - allowable shear parallel to wall

top mount plates in bond beams - allowable shear parallel to wall

(OP)
Hello, I am having a difficult time finding any type of design guidance on calculating the allowable longitudinal shear load for a top mounted embed plate into CMU (specifically a bond beam). The equations in Section 2.1.4.3.2 of ACI 530-08 are relevant for A) side/face mounted plates or B) top mounted plates with shear perpendicular to the wall. I am looking for allowable shear loads parallel to the wall. For example in ACI 318-11 Appendix D, Section D.6.2.1 (c ) it gives guidance on shear for parallel to edge, but I see nothing in ACI 530-08. Thank you in advance for the help.
