Self consolidating concrete shrinkage characteristics
Self consolidating concrete shrinkage characteristics
(OP)
Would self-consolidating concrete (SCC) be expected to have significantly more shrinkage than a normal concrete of the same strength? I am thinking of specifying a 35 MPa SCC CSA Class A (air entrained, exposed to deicing chemicals and freeze-thaw) concrete for some exposed concrete walls and columns. If the expected shrinkage would expected to be say more than 20% greater, then I would be reluctant to use it for this application.
How does the cost of SCC compare to normal concrete?
