Anybody has a design criteria for Conveyor belly pans
Anybody has a design criteria for Conveyor belly pans
(OP)
I am in search of some design criteria for conveyor belly pan design criteria.
Such as typical loads on them, permitted deflection, etc.
Haven't found any article or paper or any information. Appreciate colleagues that may have designed, specified these pans for conveyors to help me out.
Don't know if I am posting this in right discipline or that is better to post under another discipline!
Thanks

Why not see what "sales" information is available to get an idea of industry practice. Create your own design, based primarily on the characteristics (e.g., weight) of the product being transported by the conveyor. From the website linked to, belly pans don't look too complicated or that that difficult to design... but I suppose this project is somewhat unusual for a civil engineer.
Good Luck

Thank you for your kind response. Don't know why there aren't anything out there!!!
Yes, I saw the Fit-A-Pan and am trying to get some info from them but they just are wanting to sale without much info.
They tell me give your conveyor info and we give u the construction drawings !!!
Well, I am trying to understand the practice
It is shocking that no one in engtip has seen or dealt with these pans?
You would think a lot of senior skilled engineers see and browse this forum
Either people are becoming so protective of their knowledge or this is not a common subject

Concerning your understanding the practice, with a little looking around found a blurry, but useful "drawing" that appears to show how typical belly pans work - see below. Any way you could work on this project with a Mechanical engineer who has knowledge of conveyors?
