Can the active forces behind a cantilevered wall be modeled through the Slide stability software? The software has a function "back analysis of support forces" which calculates the required force to achieve a certain FOS at the position of a wall?

Can this force be used in the design instead of using earth-pressure coefficients to calculate earth forces?

I was thinking that option is for soil nailing, anchors, tiebacks, etc. which are considered as "support" in SLIDE.

I normally size the wall first and separately from SLIDE (based on OT, sliding and bearing capacity checks) and then add the calculated wall geometry in SLIDE. Then, analyze the overall rotational stability of the slope with the wall.

My design methodology is very much the same. Except that we are dealing with a cantilevered type retaining wall. We have a transnational failure (mobilized soil)that needs to be retained.

The support option was recommended to me as a method of making a comparison with the Ka value, when the Ka value doesn't reflect the soil mass involved in the failure mechanism. I know that there are other ways of calculating soil mass in a slip, but this seemed like a good approach. Just wondering if others have dealt with this in a similar way.
