History of Threads

History of Threads

History of Threads

(OP)
I just happened to Notice that SW2016 has a "Thread" feature now that picks up an edge and then models actual threads. It's lateness to the party made me wonder: How long has UG/NX had the detailed "Thread"? I recall it being there for sure in NX2, and I seem to recall it as far back as UG15, but I think it was even before that. So, anyone know?

Regards,
KLINE

RE: History of Threads

I suspect that it was around UG V13.0, which was released in July, 1997.

RE: History of Threads

V13 sounds right for the thread feature.
Drafting could not read the thread note until V14. It was one of my complaints as a beta tester.

RE: History of Threads

I'll buy that since Drafting support with respect to a new modeling feature often took at least one release.

RE: History of Threads

Would be time anyway that this Feature is replaced with a new type similar to the hole feature threads...
