RE: Information on an old beam
ASD 5th edition would land that as a Light Beam (W,I Shape) produced by Bethlehem Steel Co. or United States Steel Corp.
AISC has a historic data excel file which you may find useful https://www.aisc.org/publications/steel-constructi...
Based on 12lbs/ft think it may be the Light Beam equivalent modern day shape is a W6x12 (section props vary slightly from the light beam):
A = 3.53 in^2
d = 6 in
tw = 0.23 in
bf = 4 in
tf = 0.279 in
W = 12 lbs/ft
Ix = 21.7 in^4
Sx = 7.24 in^3
rx = 2.48 in
Iy = 2.89 in^4
Sy = 1.44 in^3
ry = 0.90 in
