is there any specific code in british or Eurocode that shows how to compute this Channel support for both free standing and floor to ceiling glass barrier. is there any minimum height and thickness of the channel THANK YOU!!!

RE: Glass support.

I practice in North America and do not know of anything codified here. The shoe manufacturer will usually provide engineering reports that are helpful for understanding the checks requires. Here's a north american example.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

RE: Glass support.

AFAIK, first principles is all you will have to go by here.

thank you for all the respond

@Northcivil can you elaborate your answer. sorry I'm kind of confuse right now of how to compute the right thickness and required height.

RE: Glass support.

Maybe DIN 18008 (German Glass code) can help
But basically stress design as usual ....
And yes...some suppliers might have 'finished' detail in their portfolio

best regards
