License Problem. Server Down [-96]

License Problem. Server Down [-96]

License Problem. Server Down [-96]

(OP)
Hi,
We've recently bought a new license for NX11.
Before receiving the definitive license our distributor send us a temporal license.
We installed our old NX8.0 in a new machine and everything worked fine.

Four days ago we got our final license and the NX11 DVD.
We proceed to install the new version updating the license server.
From that step we've been unable to open NX11 neither NX8.

We get a Server down message, here is the section of the LOG describing the problem:

11:47:32 (ugslmd) EXTERNAL FILTERS are OFF
11:47:33 (ugslmd) Vendor daemon can't talk to lmgrd (License server machine is down or not responding. (-96,491))
11:47:33 (ugslmd) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 28 Exit reason 5

We've been struggling with our distributor to make things done, but nothing worked up to now.

1.- Server name: Ok.
2.- Ping Responding: Ok.
3.- Firewall deactivated: Ok.
4.- Environment variables: Ok.
5.- Port changing: No result.
6.- License File: Ok.
7.- Change the server name to avoid Case sensitive issue: No result.
8.- Re install license server: No result.

Actually I'm waiting for anoder advise from support, but it seems they have no idea of what is going on.

Any help wood be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Dani.

RE: License Problem. Server Down [-96]

You've only supplied a very small amount of what looks like the license server log file, so it's hard to know what the actual cause is.

1. Are you certain that the composite ID in the new license file, matches the one for the license server?
2. You said the firewall was disabled. Make certain all firewalls are disabled, sometimes people have multiple firewalls.
Also make certain that the ugslmd & lmgrd exectuables aren't blocked on the server, the log suggests that ugslmd can't talk to lmgrd.

Thanks for your answer Anthony,

We've been the last two days trying things with Siemens service through our local dealer.
Deactivating IPV6, changing windows "host" file, deleting windows Teredo device, etc.
None of them did nothing.
We go on receiving the server down message.
We are quite confused as this license is using localhost.

I upload now the whole log file in this post as you mention Anthony, I wasn't sure if this could be done or not.

About composite ID I'm certain we used the one they gave us, just did copy & paste.

Thanks again,
Dani.

RE: License Problem. Server Down [-96]

Asyou both note, the error message is "Vendor daemon can't talk to lmgrd (License server machine is down or not responding. (-96,491))"

I don't know how deep Anthony's knowledge is in this matter, but i am pretty certain that GTAC would be able to solve it immediately.
Try to get to speak to GTAC directly...

Regards,
Tomas

We were already talking with GTAC, but it was quite confusing.
Finally it was solved in the last advise!
We had to completely remove from our system the Software Firewall we were using.

We were doing the tests deactivating it, but this was not enough.
Once deleted from the system it worked fine.

Thanks for your help anyway.
