How to export sketch to DWG

How to export sketch to DWG

How to export sketch to DWG

(OP)
I am trying to export some design I made in NX 10 to a .DWG file. The design is contained in a single sketch. However, when I export it (File>Export>AutoCAD DXF/DWG, formerly 2D Exchange), the converter somehow does not recognize this sketch, and outputs a .DWG file containing no features.

When I extract the individual curves of the sketch, using Menu>Insert>Associative Copy>Extract Geometry>Composite Curve (or just hand-draw the individual curves otuside of a sketch), the export works just fine; curves outside of the sketch are recognized correctly. (note that both the sketch and the extracted curves are located in Layer 1)

Is there a way to make the exporter recognize the sketch curves as well, without resorting to manually extracting all the curves in the sketch?

RE: How to export sketch to DWG

Are you working with a modeling or drafting sketch? (I'm assuming you want to export a sketch from the modeling application).
The export DXF/DWG works best with 2d drawings. One solution would be to switch to the drafting application and create a drawing view with the sketch and any other desired objects, then export the drawing to DWG.

Thanks cowski. I attempted to use the drafting application; however, the export then contained the outline of the lines in the draft (when zooming in with AutoCAD, this became apparent; normally, the lines should always have a fixed size on the screen, regardless of zoom.

RE: How to export sketch to DWG

I'm not sure what you mean by "the outline of the lines"; perhaps a screenshot would help?
