Load Certification of BTH Device

Load Certification of BTH Device

Load Certification of BTH Device

(OP)
I have a new client in the Wichita area and I am looking for someone to certify some below the hook devices for me. I have not been able to find anyone that is close. Does anyone on here have suggestions on places I can call to have this job done for me?

RE: Load Certification of BTH Device

BTH Guy:
It seems to me that most well certified and well equipped local testing labs could do most of the testing which is needed. With some guidance from you about exactly what you need, for the most part, it is a simple pull test. Depending upon the exact nature of the lifting parts/equip. involved this may require some special fixturing. I think ASME BTH-1 usually requires load testing of lifting equip. to (1.25)( its working load), before it is put in service. This equip. should have been designed to a FoS (factor of safety) greater than 1.25, depending upon its nature and daily usage. Does your client know of any materials testing labs in his immediate area, why not contact them and see what they can do for you?
