The process unit is a wax hydrotreater. Is it possible that a TI unit located in a pipe connected longitudinaly in line with a process temperature-controlled electric heater bathed in hydrogen-rich gas (a diathermic gas) consistently shows higher temperatures than another TI located at less than 1 m distance farther along but doesn't "see" the heating electrical elements after an elbow turn? Both TIs and the pipe heat insulation are in good working order. Could heat radiation be superimposed to convection to explain the strange behaviour ?

Just guessing ....
RE: The process unit is a wax hydrotrea
By the way, is your name connected to Osvaldo Ardiles the famous argentine football player ?
Thanks again.
RE: The process unit is a wax hydrotrea
we both are from argentina ( I am not good at football, I mean, not as good as him ) and ardiles is not a very common last name, so everyone establishes some link .
He is back in Argentina as the coach of Racing Club
