(OP)
Anyone else experiencing seemingly random disconnects of their mapped network drives in Win2K?  We were getting this all the time, sometimes resulting in SolidWorks errors complaining about loss of network connection, corrupted files, couldn't save etc.  I found the following info:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q138365

The problems seem to have stopped since I changed this on the server.  However, I don't know for sure this was what did it since one of our network hubs "flamed out" the day after I made the change.  I think the hub may have been getting flaky for a while before its final smoke test.

RE: Anyone else experiencing seemingly

Yeah,
Get it all the time.  Have to wait for the computer to re-establish connection (2-5 sec.)  Sometimes Solidworks cant find links.
Had no idea that it could be this.
Thanks For the info.

Regards,

Edson Campos

dhinners,
We are crashing all the time. We have 19 users that I asked for crash data from.  It will that some evidence to get the I.S. guys to do anything to the server.
