ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.6-1

ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.6-1

ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.6-1

(OP)
I have a monoslope roof with h>60 feet and theta of ~14 degrees. Per footnote 6, I'm directed to Figs 30.4-2A, 2B, or 2C for the GCp values. These figures are for gable roofs though. Figures30.4-5A and 5B are for monoslope roofs and would seem to be better applied to my case. Is it the intent of the code to use the gable roof figures in this situation?

RE: ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.6-1

Can you describe from which specific paragraph of ASCE 7-10 is the Footnote 6 you've referenced? What might make a difference is whether you are looking in the enclosed buildings section or open buildings section.

Apologies. I failed to list the figure I'm referencing. Figure 30.6-1 for enclosed or partially enclosed building walls & roofs with h> 60 feet. I belong here based on that info (partially enclosed), but footnote 6 of figure 30.6-1 directs you to Figs 30.4-2A, 2B, or 2C if your roof theta is > 10 degrees. I'm just wondering why it would be those figures instead of figures Figures30.4-5A and 5B which are for monoslope roofs.
