Set boundary conditions for one cell to mimic the compression for the whole sample

Set boundary conditions for one cell to mimic the compression for the whole sample

Hi all,

I am simulating a simple compression test in Abaqus.

The test sample is a 20mm-high cylinder with TPMS structure. The diameter of the cross section is 15mm. TPMS unit cells with the size of 1.5*1.5*1.5 mm^3 are used to build the whole sample. of The problem is the file size of the sample is huuuuuuuuuuge... Importing one layer of the sample took me almost three days. There are 20 layers in total.

Now I am trying to simulate the test with only one unit cell by setting specific boundary conditions. But I have no idea how to define these BCs. Is it possible for me to calculate the BCs? I can imagine the calculation will be extremely complicated. Do you have any better ideas?

I would be appreciated by your suggestions. Thank you in advance!

Cheers
