Hi friends. I was doing a contact analysis problem in MSC Nastran. I need to apply transient load ( Time varying sinusoidal load) to the problem. Can i use SOL 400 for solving this. SOL 400 supports contact but does it support transient loadings. Please help

You can use sol 112 for your transient analysis.
sol 112 supports contact

Hi,

Yes SOL 400 will solve transient nonlinear and transient linear problems. For touching contact, use the ANALYSIS type of NLTRAN and define your time stepping strategy on the NLSTEP entry.
