RC wall design with (Tedds software) according to Euro norm
RC wall design with (Tedds software) according to Euro norm
(OP)
Dear Collogues
Please , Could someone clarify to me this statement (PASS - This is within half of one percent of the applied axial load therefore say OK ) in calculation note of (Tedds software ) for RC wall design exposed to axial force and end moment about minor axis . And if related to Euro code requirements. May I know the clause number in the code?
Note : Calculation note is attached
Any help will be appreciated

RE: RC wall design with (Tedds software) according to Euro norm
If so, they are meeting a calculation requirement, rather than a code requirement, so the wording is a bit confusing.

RE: RC wall design with (Tedds software) according to Euro norm
Dear Doug
Thank you so much for your clarification.
Please, could you recommend me a simple software such as (Tedds or BETON express) just to verify the section capacity of RC walls exposed to axial force plus end moments about minor axis according to EC?
Actually, I am looking forward to find a simple software just to verify the RC elements capacity based on the force values obtained for structural analysis.
Best Regards

has a function called UMomPF which will give you the design bending capacity for any rectangular section, including axial load, to Eurocode 2.
It will also find reinforcement stresses and crack width under SLS loading (EStress function).
It won't check for detailed code requirements like minimum steel, or moment magnification factors, but it should allow you to check the basic numbers from TEDDS or any other software.
I haven't used any of the Eurocode design packages, so I can't comment on them.

Thank you so much for your helpful spreadsheet .
But could you give me more explanation for (has a function called UMomPF which will give you the design bending capacity for any rectangular section, including axial load, to Eurocode 2. ).
RE: RC wall design with (Tedds software) according to Euro norm
You will see that the UMomPF function is on the "UMom input" and "UMom out" sheets.
On the "Umom input" sheet the input cells are shaded grey, and notes on the input are given below.
The output is on "UMom out" rows 25-40. including the axial load and moment in the concrete, top and bottom steel, and total, and also strains, stresses, and other values used in the calculation.
Note that the output is generated by a User Defined Function, which works like a built-in Excel function, so you can set up your input data anywhere, and then enter the function to return just the data you want.
