Inconel and Stainless properties
Inconel and Stainless properties
(OP)
Hi,
Do you guys know of any good resources that explain material properties of various metals? I'm looking to get some, not necessarily general differences but concrete differences between Inconel and Stainless Steel. I know that Inconel is considered a "better" material in terms of strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance but more expensive. Something that would be useful for me is at what general temperature would you shift from using stainless steel to using inconel (obviously all grades are different). Do you guys know of any good resources?

RE: Inconel and Stainless properties
If you want a reference book that provides one stop shopping for material use recommendations, you will not find it. Instead, you will need to decide on the application or process and tailor your search.
RE: Inconel and Stainless properties
There are some great books out there, here would be two to start with.
And despite the names there is some Ni alloy info in them.
