Material/Temper for Clip on Nut/Retaining Ring

Material/Temper for Clip on Nut/Retaining Ring

(OP)
Could use a little help on material section and tempering information for a part I plan to design thats kind of a cross between a retaining ring and a clip on nut..
It will be stamped/formed (bent over in U shape) in a shape similar to a clip on nut as shown in the attached image and part of it (one side of the U shape) will be a "retaining ring"..

I suspect I will have it stamped in a progressive die from flat stock (.015" thick material of some steel alloy??) and come out formed like the clip on nut but it will need to have "spring tempered" qualities to it..
I'm just not clear on what I need to put on the drawing as far as recommended heat treating,etc.. to achieve the spring tempering post stamping..
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide..
