How to plot freq response function for a node?

How to plot freq response function for a node?

(OP)
Hi,

I've run a steady state & dynamic frequency analysis & am now trying to get the frequency response functions (FRF) for particular nodes.

So far I have only been able to output accelerations & displacements for every node. As there close on 1/4 million nodes this isnt ideal.

What am I missing here?

RE: How to plot freq response function for a node?

What exactly do you mean with "frequency response functions (FRF) for particular nodes"? It it the frequency of his movement?

Range of nodal displacements at certain frequencies.

Sounds to me like a xy-plot of the displacement magnitude vs. frequency for such a node.

That's what I thought but whenever I try to create XY Data I get the following....

I assume you have other steps in the analysis, that act in the time domain. Use the upper right button in that dialog (or Results -> Active Steps/Frames) to deactivate such steps before.

Also think about complex results. Maybe you also have to switch the settings before. See Results -> Options -> Complex Form

Phew thanks that was driving crazy
