Vessel support during nozzle welding

Vessel support during nozzle welding

Vessel support during nozzle welding

(OP)
Hi folks,

I have just been tasked with trying to locate and specify a reinforcing spider stiffener to be placed inside a barrel (860 mm ID) to which we are welding a 20" NB nozzle. We intend leaving the shell material in place and welding the 20" nozzle as a "set on" feature and then cutting out the nozzle hole afterwards - so as to maintain as much rigidity in the barrel during the nozzle welding.

Could anyone suggest a product or company that I could use to buy an internal spider or support for this type of wrok?

Many thanks

Kevin

RE: Vessel support during nozzle welding

PressuresOn, I've seen two things done: 1) Custom burn one or more spiders from plate. Could be partials backed up by jacks. 2) Install rats nest of pipes.

Don't know about any services for the same, most fabricators do it themselves.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
