Buried piping model in CAESAR II

Buried piping model in CAESAR II

Buried piping model in CAESAR II

(OP)
Hi,

I have GRE buried pipeline project under ISO 14692 where this pipeline will be tie-in to DSS pipeline under ASME 31.3. This tie-in/code break is located inside a flange pit (below ground). Pigging provision by using soft pig is only envisaged during construction and commissioning phase. DSS pipeline approaching the flange pit is designed by using swan neck as transition spool from aboveground to underground and go to flange pit.
I am challenging by my peer during design review since as per his knowledge if we are running underground piping under ASME B31.3 in CAESAR II, we will not be able to verify the code stress under operating condition. In the same time, I cannot move the code break to aboveground since as per company specification, GRE shall be buried.
Based on that please can anybody advise me for CAESAR model case that I am facing on my project?

Regards.
