(OP)
I want to buy thermal camera PK160 from Guangzhou Satir company. The product has 5 movable spots and isothermal analysis. The resolution is 160*120. I want to know whether the product is suitable for equipment inspection and detection.

RE: satir thermal camera

I'm in the US and would consider that to be an "off-brand". FLIR is the leading brand here in the US. Fluke also has some credible cameras.

160x120 is relatively low resolution. It might be ok for general inspection where you have large thermal differnces, but for more discrete and distinctive work such as ambient moisture detection, a higher resolution camera would be necessary.

RE: satir thermal camera

Is that the thermal or visual resolution... if thermal, then, then it is an 'entry level' thermal camera, but, may be suitable for some work. If visual resolution, it is way to low for almost anything...

RE: satir thermal camera

This appears to be similar to the Cat S60 smart phone. The cat phone is $700 USD and runs a more modern version of android. It also has software to stitch the thermal image to an optical image. I have a thermal camera from Seek Thermal. It's handy for locating the structure behind finishes. One thing that is frustrating is the resolution, another is the refresh rate. As you pan around you can hear some models "click" its giving you an image you panned away from 3 seconds ago.

Try one before you buy.
