New lateral engineering software

New lateral engineering software

New lateral engineering software

(OP)
I just found a lateral engineering software that appears to be a new product, at lateralpro.com, has anyone used it before and would they recommend it?  I do structural engineering for homes or small commercial structures and I would like to find a software product that is easy to use.  I have found two other products that I purchased and found to be too cumbersome or time-consuming so I am asking for help this time before I purchase.

RE: New lateral engineering software

Cayroo, I looked at the software and it appears similar to other wood lateral design software. Due to the many variables/engineering judgement used to design wood framed homes, these programs are cumbersome and time consuming. I find it much faster to do hand calcs combined with some simple spreadsheets(I wrote myself)to crunch the numbers(O.T.M., R.M., uplift etc). My 2 cents..

RE: New lateral engineering software

lsmfse,

I like your style.  My approach is "if you cant hand calc it, dont use a computer".  I do preach this to everyone.

Thank you for your comment.
