import step file into NX 10

Please help.I have an assembly step file that I want to bring it into NX10. But all I have is the whole bunch of dumb solid bodies.
Can someone show me how to import step file in NX10 as an assembly?

Thank you.

RE: import step file into NX 10

Assuming it was exported as an assembly...
In the import options, make sure the "flatten assembly" option is turned off.

RE: import step file into NX 10

Start NX.
Create a new part.
File - Import - Step 203
If you toggle on "flatten assembly" the result will be multiple solid bodies in the reulting file.
If it's off, you will get the same assy structure as somebody exported.

BUT, The resulting bodies WILL be dumb no matter how you import.

Step does not support feature history.

Tomas
