RE: welding procedure
YES that what I said to him when i was inspecting.
when i was inspecting I SEEN PQR P8 TO P8 & THEY attached WPS P10H TO P 10H TO P10H.
both filler material group F NO 6.
other side person showed me QW-424.
One metal from a P-Number to any metal from any other P- Number ----
Base Metals Qualified
Any metal assigned the first P-Number to any metal assigned the second P-Number
THEN I SHOWED HIM
QW-403.l A change from a base metal listed under
one P-Number in Table QW /QB-422 to a metal listed under
another P-Number or to any other base metal. When
joints are made between two base metals that have different
P-Numbers, a procedure qualification shall be made
for the applicable combination of P-Numbers, even
though qualification tests have been made for each of
the two base metals welded to itself.
i said group number is essential element .
PQR -P8 is p8 ( Austenitic steel) not support to WPS- P10H TO P10H ( DUPLEX STEEL).

RE: welding procedure
Of course a P8-P8 PQR cannot support a P10H - P10H WPS.....kinda scary considering this is basic stuff.
