Structural responses
Structural responses
(OP)
Dear friends
I want to know about some important things that I am thinking about for long times.
This is about the output in ANSYS software.
When I model a tank with its liquid and do some time history analysis. I got some responses such as :
S1
X,Y,Z component of force
I was wondering if someone could let me know what are these structural responses mean? for example the force is shear force?
also the S1 is principal stress or tensile stress
Thanks in advance.

RE: Structural responses
Yes I did it several times.
The thing that I have problem with is about the results. I know what the stress and force mean.
I do not know what type of stress and force they are
For example the x- component of force is shear force?
also the S1 is principal stress or tensile stress?
If I want to get tensile stress what result I should find in ANSYS.?
