Associate Projected view to different existing view?

Associate Projected view to different existing view?

Associate Projected view to different existing view?

(OP)
I've been working on drawings of complex parts that sometimes end up over 20 sheets. I'm always moving views to other sheets and sometimes end up with a projected view or a section view that I'd like to reference as if it came from a different existing view on another sheet. Is there any way to do this without putting in a fake section or view line?

I'm on NX11.

Thanks for any help.

RE: Associate Projected view to different existing view?

I don't have NX11 installed but one used to be able to accomplish this by creating the child view on the sheet of which the parent view resides and then using Move View to move the child view to the appropriate sheet.

RE: Associate Projected view to different existing view?

I may not be using the right terminology. My issue is, after moving the child view to another sheet, I'd like to associate it to a new parent view. For instance the section view below originally came from a top view on sheet 2, I'd like the callout to come from an existing top view on sheet 5.

RE: Associate Projected view to different existing view?

That I am aware, this cannot be done unless there's been a major overhaul with Edit View (for projected views) and/or Edit Section. Check the documentation to be sure.
