Non-linear springs between faces

Non-linear springs between faces

(OP)
I am trying to apply non-linear springs between 2 surfaces. The springs model a joint between 2 lining elemnts, so the springs should not work when in tension. I thought this would be possible with CBUSH elements, but I can't figure out a way to make it work. When using 0D or 1D mesh elements I can't select 2 faces and when I use 1D connection elements, there is no face-to-face option. Does anyone has an idea how to make this work?

Thanks in advance.
